Crafted using Buffalo Trace's signature Rye Mashbill, believed to be a classic Kentucky-style rye with 51% rye content, this whiskey is a nod to tradition and craftsmanship.

The 2017 release is a blend of 72 meticulously chosen barrels from the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors of Warehouses K, L, and Q. With a significant 27.2% of the original whiskey lost to evaporation, the yield is a limited treasure of just over 14,000 bottles. This uncut and unfiltered Straight Rye Whiskey is bottled directly from the barrel, preserving its rich flavors and paying homage to the practices of over a century ago.

Nose: you are greeted with a sharp burst of mint, licorice, cherry, allspice, and toasted oak, with undertones of lemongrass and raspberry. A splash of water reveals softer notes of apple danish, caramel, and a hint of orange.

The palate is a delightful dance of Cherry Vanilla Coke, tobacco, white pepper, and rye spice, with nuances of walnut, caramel, and chocolate.

The finish is long, herbal, and earthy, with hints of raspberry, vanilla, and wood char. Adding water unveils pastry notes and a touch of baking spice.
